The Board of Zoning Appeals is a quasi-judicial board that decides cases brought before it by petitioners who have been denied a zoning permit because their zoning application does not conform to the Village of Kelleys Island zoning laws. Usually the way to this board is through contact with the Zoning Inspector. A Board of Zoning Appeals application must be filed by the petitioner, with the current fee, in order to bring the board into session.
The Board of Zoning Appeals is composed of five members appointed by the Mayor, each with a four year term.
